CHHMA members gain key insight on how their organizations can best drive successful new products and services.
As part of the CHHMA partnership with the Schulich Executive Education Centre (SEEC), several CHHMA members attended a seminar on the morning of February 20th at a SEEC facility in downtown Toronto.
The speaker was Gerry Lubanszky, a SEEC instructor and President of GOTO Market Solutions Ltd. helping companies develop new product and new business strategies. He has over 30 years’ experience in sales & marketing in the consumer packaged and durable goods industry, most recently with Garant GP, Canada’s largest and most innovative manufacturer of lawn & garden, maintenance & construction tools, as vice-president of sales and business development. Gerry is recognized as an industry leader in business development and is a director at the CHHMA.
The seminar topic was “The Three Most Important Factors for Successful Product Development,” and it set out to highlight key factors that can mean the difference between prospering or failing when developing new products and services.
During the seminar, Mr. Lubanszky discussed the innovation process and what makes a product truly innovative and why new products often fail. He reviewed the key factors and types of companies that drive successful new product development (NPD) and how organizations can best structure and integrate their sales and marketing efforts for success.
As mentioned, this seminar was put on as part of the CHHMA partnership with SEEC-York University and we plan to conduct many more seminars & webinars for CHHMA members by SEEC instructors on a variety of topics over the coming months – stay tuned for further information.
